Young Artists Competition Print E-mail

The Idaho Falls Symphony’s Young Artists Competition is usually held every other year, and is intended to encourage and reward promising young musical talent in the state of Idaho. It also provides a venue in which young artists can “get a taste” of competition beyond their immediate locale, which will also serve them well as they progress in their musical careers. The current personnel of the Idaho Falls Symphony boasts members who are previous winners of the competition.

The winner of the competition is featured as the guest artist for one of the orchestra’s subscription series concerts. Contestants must be residents of Idaho or students in Idaho universities or colleges and no older than twenty-four at the time of the competition, which is usually held in September. A call for applications is generally announced every other spring. Judges for the competition are distinguished teachers and performers from outside the state of Idaho.

Audition Information

The application deadline for 2010 is September 30, 2010.  You can download the packet here that contains the information, rules, and application that needs to be submitted.
